What deserves to last.
A draft note on culture, responsibility, and what we choose to carry forward.
Draft note / Not yet published.

Culture is not an ornament. It is the context in which we build, gather, and give things meaning.
I return to a question: what deserves to last? It connects the things we build to the people they serve, and personal choices to a wider cultural life.
Black and Southern artistic heritage deserve careful attention. I want to consider the work in its context, credit its makers, and listen to the people who carry it forward.
These are questions I want to spend time with: what we inherit, what we support, and what we leave for others. They deserve more than a quick answer.
